ALTEIDET HANDELSSTED
Alteidet is the last station before the Finmark border, and features scenic views of the Norwegian fjords and mountains. The property Alteidet Søndre stretches along the beach, from Storengnæset to the Finmark border, and all way up to the highest point mountains. Here is a large cultivated arable land, with fine birch forest and mosses that gives good opportunities for farming and wildlife.
The farm at Alteidet Søndre has a history that goes back to around 1700. The farm was an important trading post with a post office and telegraph, as well as a historic route for travel. Here there were a large number of buildings that contained everything that could be invented. Sadly all 27 houses got burned down in 1944, under World War 2. But luckily today this place is owned by Lars and Grete at Alteidet Adventure, to keep the history of this place going.

THIS IS US
Building The
Future Together
Alteidet Adventure is owned by Lars Helge Beldo and Grete Høgmo, a couple with deep ties to nature and the local area.
Lars (55) was born in Skjervøy—an island municipality in Troms og Finnmark. But most of his childhood he grew up in Alta, spending lots of his time outdoors with his family, developing a love for cabin trips, the sea air, and hunting.
Grete, an active and bubbly social worker from Trøndelag, moved to Alta, drawn by her roots—her mother grew up nearby, so she spent a lot of her childhood visiting Alteidet, and the reason she always imagined living here.
Together, they share a passion for showcasing this hidden gem, offering unforgettable experiences in the stunning Arctic landscape.
